2001 Belgian Canals

Moored for a few hours waiting for the right tide to cross the harbour

All Belgian towns have this very ornate architecture, this one I think is Veurne

As this archive is being constructed, many years later, this is about the point before which only memory is available. After this point many of the images are scanned commercially from APS or are direct digital images and have the date and time of capture embedded, allowing cross-correlation with the diary.

This was some sort of mock village, indoors with lots of little restaurants, probably Cité Europe

The canal hire base at Nieuwpoort

Lock at Plassendale

Real locks with a decent rise on the Ieper canal

Boats in convoy to keep the bridgekeeper happy

Veurne

They were a bit bigger than us, and not slowing down

Caff did most of the steering
