I recently came across an old document describing a relay-and-switches computer that was built at Kingston Grammar School by the next year or two older than me, so during the late 1960s or early 1970s. I have a memory of a wooden thing about a meter long covered in switches, relays, small light bulbs and a lot of wires. Here is the description:
